| The Terry Marsh Wildlife Rescue Service is a charity that provides sanctuary and hope to many species of bird and wildlife that would otherwise suffer. The Service came into existence over 20 years ago when I suffered a back injury and had to part with my own, much loved, canaries and finches. My reputation with birds was already known, so despite only just getting back from hospital, I was brought an injured starling who became known as Rambo. He was just the start of what was to become a life’s work.
Now, with over 250 species of birds, assorted wildlife and tremendous help from a few young volunteers, the Terry Marsh Wildlife Rescue Centre has grown to become a full time enterprise. Over the years, we have returned more than 12,500 species to the wild and offered comfort and care to those that couldn’t make it back. The sense of reward is more than enough compensation for the lack of holidays or sleepless nights when the injured arrive.
Up until a few years ago, we were well supported and able to create a better environment for the creatures who needed our help; sadly that is no longer the case. Although we never turn away a single animal or bird, the death of one of our patrons has left us struggling to provide what is needed. My hope is, that as you read this site, you will linger on the donation page and give what you can to help us keep this essential service running. |
